LB Kitchen is seeking a full-time Prep Team Lead for our Portland Kitchen at 255 Congress St.

Full-time work consists of 40/hours, 5/shifts.

Candidate Requirements:

• 3+ years of line/prep cook experience and/or 2+ years of kitchen experience + culinary school degree

• Proficient knife skills

• Understanding of food and equipment safety

• Competency in proper food storage and handling

• Experience with large format, scratch cooking prep projects

• Can meet physical demands of position including; carrying and lifting up to 50lbs, standing

for extended periods of time, walking up and down stairs frequently

• Basic computer skills

• Communicates kindly, efficiently, and with respect

• Has a team mentality and is willing to be flexible and problem-solve

• Takes direction and feedback well

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous leadership experience

• ServSafe food manager or food handler certified

• Experience with online inventory management systems

• Upholding high standards for yourself and others

Position Duties Include:

• Receive, sort, put away, and FIFO daily orders in walk-in and dry goods

• Write, delegate, and prioritize detailed prep lists

• Lead and oversee a small part-time prep team - ensure recipes are being executed properly and timely

• Place daily food orders from various vendors, and communicate with vendors about any food issues

• Advanced time management skills

• Ability to work independently

• Keep a clean and organized prep station

• Working with a sense of urgency throughout the day

• Learn and maintain recipe book

• Maintain correct pars, communicate with Kitchen Shift Leads• Maintain invoicing system (xtrachef)

Compensation + Benefits:

• $24/hr commensurate with experience + pooled tips ranging from $6-$10 additional hourly
